Contented living

Josue’, Alex, Billy, Aroldo and Ezdras attended a two day leadership conference. God is giving us opportunities to move into the transition.

We celebrated Gladys’s birthday.

Goethe (1749-1832) wrote his prescription for contented living. It is amazing how something written nearly 300 years ago can be so on the nose in 2017.

  1. Health enough to make work a pleasure. It has only been the last 2 weeks that I have felt physically able to go and help with projects at Casa. To have health to make your labors enjoyable is truly a gift from God.
  2. Wealth enough to support your needs. Again I refer to myself. God has blessed us with an abundance to feed, clothe, educate and provide health care for the children. But we want to build churches, help the poor and minister outside the walls of Casa. We need for our needs but also for the needs of others.
  3. Strength to battle with difficulties and overcome them. Spiritual warfare ismore difficult and strength consuming than physical warfare. It never ends. Satan never lets up. It seems as though we go from one battle to another.
  4. Grace enough to confess my sins and forsake them. There is no doubt what so ever that I am a sinner who has been saved by grace. But there is still a struggle in my body to turn from sins that so easily attach themselves to me.
