Debbie drove to Baton Rouge to bring legal papers to be tamped. Then Wednesday she & I will bring that paper work to the Guatemalan embassy in Houston to get them sealed.
Remember Lot’s wife. (Luke 17:32). There are three things to remember about Lot’s wife:
- She married into privilege. She had been instructed in the ways of God. She was related to Abraham so she had seen godly examples. Lot, himself, tried to protect the angels from the sodomites. She was warned of the impending doom on Sodom and Gomorrah.
- Remember her sin. It was a sin of presumption. She was told to escape and not look back. She presumed that she could get away with her sin. It also was a sin of unbelief. She did not take the warning by the angel as serious. This is much like our culture today. God is so patient but judgment is coming. Faith leads to works but unbelief leads to rebellion. Remember Cain first hated and then he murdered.
- Remember her fate. It was deserved. She had been warned. It was sudden and totally unexpected. In the twinkling of an eye she looked back and became a pillar of salt.
You and I cannot take His warnings for granted. The soul that sins it will die. You and I need to heed the voice of God and obey to the best of our ability. We cannot take sin for granted. His mercy endures forever but that does not give us the freedom to live without obedience.
