My Mentor and Friend

Christianity lost a mighty soldier for Jesus. Charles Rogers, pastor, Bible teacher, evangelist, missionary and my mentor passed away yesterday. He was in his 90s and leaves an unbelievable record of service to Christ.

He served on the board of World Ministry Fellowship for over 50 years. I served 4 years with him on the board when I lived in Lake Charles.

Probably 100s of 1000s of Africans owe their salvation and ministries to Charles. He went to Africa and Liberia three months every year.

He brought me on a mission trip to Guatemala in 1988 and would later tell me that God had spoken to him that Dottie and I were to minister to children in Guatemala. He is the one God used to bring us to Guatemala. I owe him a debt beyond measure, and I know that when he left this earth it was with 1000s of crowns to lay at the feet of Jesus.

Rest in peace my dear friend and brother.
