Emotions
Last night we had 3 major crisis. First a boy under psychiatric care attacked me but Alex was near. He had been spitting out his daily medicine. Second, Luis in dialysis, went berserk because his mother did not visit & actually tried to pull out his catheter. Third, a university girl took 12 aspirins saying that she could not understand how God allowed Ani & Jose’ to die. Without Gladys, Analy, Aroldo, Alex, Tim, Brandi, Josue’ & Alex it would have been disaster. Satan is working overtime.
1. Prayer: Instead of worrying over our problems, further compounding our anxiety and stress, the Bible recommends taking everything to God in prayer.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
2. Meditation on the Word of God: The Bible is filled with incredible promises from God. Meditating on these words of assurance can dispel our worry, doubt, fear and stress.
3. Meditation on the Word of God. The Bible is filled with incredible promises from God. Meditating on these words of assurance can dispel our worry, doubt, fear and stress.
II Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
4. Praise and worship will take our minds and thoughts off of self, off our problems, and refocus them on God. As we begin to praise and worship God, suddenly our problems seem small in light of the largeness of God.
The roller coaster of emotions that our children and staff have endured the last 6 weeks is unbelievable. The staff prayed together this morning and I trust that many people who read our update will pray for us and help us through this spiritual battle.
