We have had many emotional moment over the last few years with the children on dialysis here at Casa. Recently a child was taken to the main hospital in Guatemala City and simply left there with a change of clothes. He was so small although he was 8 years old. Tests showed that he had kidney failure.

He has been such a joy since coming here to live with the older two boys on dialysis, Jose’ and Luis. It took only a few moments for the two older ones to make him feel loved and protected. I feel that this is what makes the dialysis unit so special. Aroldo has made all of those children feel so special and the team of older girls demonstrate such compassion and “big sister” skills that the children all feel special.

Moving towards enlarging the unit means more children will receive the love and care they deserve.
