Loss of a loved one #3
Dottie and I took a few teenagers & emptied the 35 suitcases the teams recently brought & we were elated at the clothes, shoes, gifts, etc.
My back feels better today than it has in 5 months. Thank God!
Because of our drainage problems the city government is tearing up the street & installing 2 clean outs. We have to buy the material but it is worth it. This should solve the problem we have every 6 months or so.
Tony & I went computer hunting & found none.
Gladys asked that I share with you that some of the older children are fasting and praying the next 3 days for my health and if you wanted to join in prayer & fasting or partial fasting she would welcome it.
There are sources of comfort when we lose a loved one. First there is the hope of seeing your Christian loved one again. Saying good-bye is not permanent. We have that hope in Christ that one day we will be reunited. We will not have husband/wife or parent/child relationships in heaven but we will know one another. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.”
Without Christ you will not reunite with your family members who are saved. If they are not saved you will not reunite with them either. So it is so important that you pray for and witness to those whom you love.
1 Thessalonians 4:14 “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.” See the Lord makes it so very clear that saved people will reunite again.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” I have lost so many dear friends and family whom I loved so dearly when they were upon this earth. If I thought that was all there was and we were just a hunk of flesh and bone and heaven did not exist I would be mentally crushed.
My little 9 year old who died over 40 years ago and was mentally challenged would always spot the MacDonalds from any distance and immediately scream “Coke, French fries and hamburger”. I know there is no MacDo0nalds in heaven but I can see her happy face from the past and have the hope I will see that face again. That makes old age so much more fun.
