Tuscaloosa

We drove most of today leaving when the weather was icy and 18 degrees. As we headed south it warmed up so nice that we went walking in Tuscaloosa.

II Chronicles 31:21 “Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result he was successful”. I wish that I could tell you that I am like that. But honestly there are areas of my life where I do not seek the Lord with “all my heart”. There are some areas where I do not put my entire self. But to be successful in anything we must give our whole heart to it.

If I do not put my whole heart into my marriage, my relationship with the children or my spiritual growth those areas will flounder. I may have some victory but not the total victory Christ wants for me. Where I have placed my efforts I have seen positive results but where I have simply gone through the motions the results are not so good.

I want to run my race through to the finish line and not stop half-way or three-quarters of the way down the track. I am so blessed but that does not mean total victory. I ran track in school and if I did well in one competition it did not mean that I did well in the next competition. The training was daily and each race began with everyone in the exact same position. It was a new race!

If we think that we can give our lives half-heartedly to God and receive 100% results and blessings then we are deceiving ourselves.
