Dr Miguel came out & treated a number of children. Being a trauma surgeon he worked at a pace that left our staff jaw-dropped.
I spoke with all of the children about boy/girl relationships & we are instituting new rules concerning ages, etc. They all seemed to understand my explanation.
Jorge’ still has not arrived.
The American women all went out to celebrate the birthdays of Dottie and Kate.
When you study the story of Gideon you see this man of fear hiding when the angel comes to meet him and gave him his assignment. All of you know the story. What caused Gideon to go from a man of fear to a doer of the Word and win an incredible victory?
He came to the place where he says to God that he is weak and inadequate and acknowledged his need of God. So now the strength of God comes upon him. Admitting our weakness is not a “negative confession”. Without God we can do nothing. When we think we can handle any situation alone and in our own strength we fail miserably.
God gives him an army of 32,000 that He soon reduces to 300 and then He sends that army against 135,000 which is a ratio of 450 to 1. Gideon’s men routed the enemy. There was no doubt that God and God, alone, would get the glory. When we go through these terrible and painful experiences of anxiety, worry and fear it is for God to receive the glory.
I suppose I forget that from time to time. But the truth is “when I am weak He is strong”.
