Presentation

Each year the high school graduates make a presentation to the student body so they did that today.

The men had a devotional and prayer time which we will attempt to do each Friday evening. Lee is leading the group.

All of the children had praise, worship & prayer with Gladys which also is each Friday evening.

Needs or Wants?  The problem with a consumer mentality is that it is never enough. God is ABLE to meet our NEEDS but He does always desire to do so. His resources are unlimited and His love for us is without end.

Psalms 37:4-5 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Now maybe you can start to understand how God answers our requests for “things”. If we do not delight in Him we will not want Him, we will only want His gifts.

Selfishness is actually me installing me on the throne of God. It is all about me. As a Catholic growing up I was always enthralled by St. Francis of Assisi and how he gave up everything to serve God and others. Later in life I became just as enthralled with Mother Teresa, Hudson Taylor and George Mueller for their sacrifices for the poor, the sick and the unwanted.

Trusting in God and enjoying Him has been difficult for millions of people. And the reason is because of lazy, absent, abusive or uncaring fathers. They can make a baby but they cannot make a family. Therefore many children are raised in a dysfunctional situation where when you use the word “father” they instantly shrink away. To them a father is a monster.

But God desires to be our Father and He desires to bless us and meet our needs and even go beyond where He also meets our wants. But until we enjoy Him we will always lack.
