Janet’s Story

Janet and her brothers have been in the child welfare system since they were very young. When Janet was able to see her brothers in court hearings, she could tell they were not okay. They were sad and acted so differently from when she was last with them.

Then Janet came to Casa Aleluya.

At Janet’s request, the judge agreed to place her brothers with her at Casa Aleluya, but her brothers weren’t happy about his decision at first. They were very shy but soon opened up. Now, they are incredibly happy boys.

Janet is so thankful that Casa Aleluya gave her the opportunity to be together with her brothers. She just turned 18 years old, but we brought her along on our quinceañera trip this year since she didn’t have the opportunity to celebrate hers.

Janet and her brothers are no longer at Casa. Since she is eighteen, she willingly chose to go with her brothers to care for them. While at Casa, Janet received so much love, and she grew in her maturity and relationship with Jesus, so she decided to care for her brothers going forward.

Even their mom and dad grew while their children were at Casa. On visitation days, they were the first to arrive and the last to leave. Janet’s parents are so thankful to Casa for providing a safe place to grow and develop while also allowing their relationships as a family to continue.

Janet overflows with gratitude for how Casa Aleluya introduced her to Jesus and gave her a new identity in Christ. Whether the children who come through our doors are three days or fifteen years old, we strive to care for each of them wholistically.

Janet and her family’s story would not have been possible without supporters like you.
