Repeat
Yesterday´s post only went on Facebook and not email. So i am posting it again.
Sunday Adela cooked gumbo for Tony´s 56th birthday. Dottie has taught Adela how to cook and she can cook anything Dottie has cooked. Adela is officially a Guatemalan Cajon.
Kids ask me what I want to write on my tomb. I don´t know if they are anxious or just curious. I always tell them to write “He was a man of mercy”.
Jesus forgave immediately even those who nailed him on the cross. He forgave Judas. I desire that characteristic. I will not hate. I will not be unforgiving. I want to give mercy because Jesus has been so merciful for me.
I have underlined the word mercy as I read through the Bible last year and mercy is used 314 times. The word merciful is used 40 times so that is a total of 354 times. Love is used 751 times.
My favorite verse on mercy is Micah 7:18 “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of his children?” James 2:13v says, “There will be no mercy for those who have shown no mercy”.
The main truth I take away when I study Jesus is that He forgave immediately. His mercy was immediate. He made no one wait for forgiveness. I want that characteristic.
Ryan McGovern a representative of Isaiah 58 Foundation is here for a few days. They have supported us for years.
TUESDAY
My lesson yesterday posted on Facebook and not my regular spot and not email. I am sorry.
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want”. Provision. I have all that I need. The Lord knows my needs even better than I do. He sees around corners and over the hills. He knows what is coming. So I have to stand fast and believe that God knows best.
Brook Hill high school from Texas arrived last night with 32 folks.
Dottie is so ill and yet she laughs all the time, and her therapy sessions are just laughter and joy. She is so remarkable. I know that I would be in self-pity if I were in her condition. She has never complained even one time.
